The process of applying for an Angola Visa for Indian citizen is performed offline or online(tourist/business). Before starting the application, it is necessary to check the eligibility criteria for that particular type of permit and know if you can apply for it. Once this is done, you can proceed to the offline process as per the following -

Acquire all the documents required for the Angola Visa application process.

Print out and fill in the application form available on the website of the Embassy of Angola.

Along with the documents, submit the application directly at the embassy. You may also be required to submit your biometrics.

You will have to pay the visa fees in the form of a draft.


Angola Visa types

Depending on the purpose of visit, and the duration of stay, the types of permits for Angola can be classified into the following -


  • Short term - these are permits which usually allow for a stay of 30-90 days. These can further be classified into the following -

  • E-visa - Tourist/Business: Even though it has been granted for only selected countries, the individual, however, will have to apply for approval prior to his travel. And then, if approved, can collect the visa and pay the fees at the port of entry in Angola.

  • Transit - this is issued for passengers in transit for more than 24 hours in an airport in Angola.

  • Ordinary - This consists of the other short term permit for reasons such as the following -

  1. Business

  2. Family visits

  3. Cultural events, etc

Long term - The long term permits are issued for a longer duration of time up to 1 year and then extended up to the completion of the activity. This can be classified as follows -

➔Work/employment - provided for the purpose of engaging in professional activity for a 1 year period, this visa can be extended up to 2 times after the expiry.

➔Student - The student permit is issued for students visiting the country to take part in academic courses. The visa, initially issued for 1 year, can be extended multiple times until the end of the course.

➔Residence - For individuals who have applied to claim a permanent residence permit, they can apply for this visa. Initially issued for 120 days, this can be extended for another 120 days until the status of the application is known.
